I've often struggled with the answer: So, what do you do for work?
The answer is: Well, depends on the day...
I am a full-time content and SEO marketer. I write for law firms, staffing agencies, landscaping companies, HR businesses, marketing firms, B2B companies, technology platforms, and lots of other clients. My sisters and I play a game that goes like this: "How long can we have a conversation before Liz has written about the topic for a client?" It's never very long. (Looking for a writer? I was also an English professor for nearly 15 years, but I left because it turns out I love the remote work life too much to work full-time on campus. I taught composition, spiritual writing, and creative nonfiction. I still teach on an adjunct basis.
I teach kids' classes online on Outschool, with two focus areas: composition and feminist theory.
I also teach online spiritual writing classes and in-person workshops for adults.
I teach charcuterie classes and workshops in Indiana.
I publish creative nonfiction essays, pick up copyediting gigs from time to time, and create content on TikTok.
So what do I do? I write and I teach -- although what I'm writing about and teaching about can change from day to day!
